From 2009-2012 Kris worked as an Arts Specialist and later the Assistant Manager at the Garfield Park Arts Center. During that time, the exhibits in the main gallery rotated on a bi-monthly basis. Kris painted a new mural over the elevator in the GPAC lobby for each exhibit for over a year, until a decision was made to create a simple GPAC welcome mural. A few years after Kris moved on, the manager of GPAC contacted him to create a new logo and branding for the center. In 2018, the center reached out to have Kris create a new, permanent installation in the lobby utilizing the new logo and creating a new welcome for visitors.
